Do all the people have the same symptoms when suffer from SLE?

o NO!!! The symptoms vary from individual and may come and go. The condition may affect the organs or body system at first while others might become involved later.

Why are women more vulnerable to SLE compared to men?

o SLE affects nine times as many women as men as women have aggressive immune system! Patients with an autoimmune disease, the immune system can't tell the difference between harmful substances and healthy ones. Thus, women who have aggressive immune system have overactive immune response that attacks otherwise healthy cells and tissue leading to SLE.

Is there a cure for patients suffering from SLE?

NO ): There is no cure. However, treatments are available to control the symptoms. Severity of treatments depends on individual symptoms.

Treatments for individual depend on their symptoms!

Examples: mild diseases like rash, headache can be treated by little therapy. Severe or life-threatening symptoms (such as hemolytic anemia, extensive heart or lung involvement, kidney disease, or central nervous system involvement) often require treatment by a rheumatologist and other specialists
